Since 1921, Glamorise has put curvy women at the heart of everything we do — designing the best-fitting bras for life’s countless moments. As we celebrate our 100th birthday this year, we’re taking a look back on the history that makes us, us.
For the past century, we’ve called the heart of Manhattan’s design district, home. Our in-house NYC design studio (which we still operate to this day), has worked passionately to test what works, fix what doesn’t, and fit every bra again and again until it feels just right on every cup size since day one.

Over the decades, our goal has been to stay ahead of the curve, and we think we’ve made good on that promise. In 1975, at the height of the world’s tennis craze, we invented the very first sports bra. The Free Swing Tennis Bra was the first commercially available sports bra in the world, and pioneered new levels of support and opened up countless doors for women in the process. How’s that for being ahead of the curve?
Today, our collection includes our best-selling patented MagicLift bras, which provide optimal support with our signature wire-free technology, the WonderWire Collection, which is considered by some to be the most comfortable underwire ever, and our Sport collection, which now includes an array of active-ready wire-free and underwire styles in sizes up to 50J. We’ve been innovating since the beginning, creating leading bra technology designed with our customers’ comfort in mind at every step of the way.
When you’ve been in the game as long as we have, you know the importance of a great-fitting bra. Throughout the last century, our goal has been unwavering: to design the most comfortable and supportive bras for curvy women. Our goal is to continue to design bras for generations of women to come.
